Celebrities React to Death of George Floyd [Janet Jackson, Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Megan Thee Stallion, etc.]

Published: Wednesday 27th May 2020 by Rashad

The words captioned in the photo above are some of the last uttered by a Black Minnesota man – George Floyd – whose May 25 death at the hands of local police has caused outrage.

Though terminated from their positions at the police precinct (as we reported here), many – including celebrities the world over – are calling for men responsible to be arrested and charged for the incident.

Among the infuriated are Queen of Pop Madonna (as we reported here) and other influencers who are using their platforms to speak out against the social injustice.

Look inside to see the reactions of names like Janet Jackson, LeBron James, Ariana Grande, Naomi Campbell, Mary J. Blige, Ciara, Justin Bieber, and more:

where do we begin? who gets to feel safe in America? over Memorial Day weekend two examples went viral that illuminate this fact: racism is very much alive in this country. it manifests in myriad ways. some blatant, but mostly insidious. as a white person- i have the privilege of feeling protected and served by law enforcement. And yet friends and family who are of color- have expressed that they feel unsafe just simply BEING black in America. our country’s DEEP DARK DESPICABLE wounds of hatred and dehumanization of black and brown people have never been tended to. I’m not purporting to have answers. but I know we cannot look away. to fellow white people, if there’s one thing I do know: shame is not a transformative feeling. it is paralyzing and causes people to be silent. we need to move through discomfort and have conversations about race. and history. prejudice. and how to honor another’s experiences and protect their peace on their pursuit of happiness. not speaking up about the inhumanity and injustice going on is out of the question. if you have black friends/family/ partners/ children: this is your issue too. even if you don’t know any POC but you live in this country and are a human being- this should be all of our issue. Rest in Power, George Floyd.

Enough is enough! What will it take ? A civil war ? A new president? Violent riots ? It’s tired ! I’m tired ! The country is tired !You don’t put fear in people when you do this you just show how coward YOU ARE ! And how America is really not the land of the free !

This is not okay. And it will not stop until everyone does their part. Especially white people. I said it recently and I’ll say it again, do not let your discomfort surrounding social issues prevent you from speaking up for those IN DANGER. And reality is, until this STOPS COMPLETELY – THE BLACK COMMUNITY WILL CONTINUE TO LIVE IN DANGER. DO YOUR PART. THIS INVOLVES YOU TOO. #GeorgeFloyd, I hope you RIP because it isn’t fair so many didn’t do their part to ensure you lived in peace.

I don’t have the words. I’m sick and tired of this, tired of being sad about our people dying needlessly. Harassed and humiliated, in these challenging times, I thought we could come to together, but it seems like this Coronavirus has bought out more racism in a major way… where does it end? I’m black and I’m proud #JUSTICEFORFLOYD 💔😢😡. MAY HE REST IN POWER 🙏🏾

I believe lauryl hill can still send a message with, guarding the Gates videos. A great video will be with Colin Kaepernick. The song described are struggles and the white man struggles with us. Her song can be described in so many ways. I feel the worlds describe Colin Kaepernick. Everybody wants to know where you going. I do believe Colin Kaepernick will do it all again for his people because he found true love

Glad celebrities are speaking out! We need justice!

And why did you not just put Madonna’s post on this?? Why did Madonna deserve a separate post? Wtf.

Like Toni Morrison said, it’s TIME ⏰ for WHITE people to figure out what THEY are going to do about RACISM, racist mentality and THEIR RACIST ACTIONS…take BLACK people out of it! Organize TELEVISED Town Hall meetings around this country and AIR them LIVE on CNN, BET, etc…ALL WHITE PEOPLE talking to EACH OTHER about RACISM! Having an HONEST discussion! Bring the family photo albums! Expose those KKK family members! OH, it’s gonna get REAL UGLY & ABSOLUTELY STANK up in there! 🤣 But it’s TIME to AIR THE FUNK OUT 💯

      This, PERIOD!

I’m also sick and tiiired of white people not understanding their racism is intrinsically linked since the beginning of human existence. They colonized cultures and countries not their own for centuries! Then enlaved those natives in every place they colonized. Then enacted mass destruction in policing, voting fraud, human violations, brutality, lynching, segregation, building ghettos, drugs, health care etc

The list goes on and fuc k I n g ON!

White ppl need to have a Come To Jesus moment in order for us to REALLY heal.

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t bet on this group of terrorist racists to all of a sudden have this conversation.

The folks like us OUTRAGED by this public lynching MUST VOTE EVERY REPUBLICAN OUT!!!!

Democrats need vlear ABSOLUTE political power in both executive, Senate, and the House in November (if that even hsppens) 🤷🏾‍♂️

      I hate it here. 😪😞

And now Trump bitching about regulating or shutting social medias down because it won’t represent conservative voices.

It is a different topic but it’s somehow linked.

I feel sad for all the non white people in the US, but also all the white people who have nothing to do with racism.

Look around… all the violence linked to racism, gun policy, terrible social wellfare or access to education… and that’s supposedly the most powerful nation in the world ? Lol fu<k that. Where goes all that money ?

Having Bush elected twice and now Trump… those racist rednecks are uneducated fools.
